Open Day 5th September 2021
Our best yet!
A big thank you to everyone who came to visit for the September open day. Another great day was had by all with plenty of interesting military and civilian vintage vehicles visiting us. Not to mention a B24 Liberator thundering down the perimeter track once more…
Liberator Ale from Tindall Brewery for our adult visitors seems to go well with our signature Bomber Burger and Kids Come Crafting were kept busy all day helping parents with our ‘Little Friends’ activities.
The show was well and truly stolen by GI 41-45 WW2 Reenactors showing us how the US 2nd Armoured Division lived and operated during WW2. We will be talking for a long time about their display..
Inside the Tower amongst our artefacts were stories from the 448th Bomb Group told by Pat Everson to a capacity crowd, going forward we may need to sell tickets to hear Pats stories..!
Of course, a big thank you to the volunteers who work so hard to make the day happen. Not that any of us need reminding why we do it but the poignant message with the flowers left on the memorial by a visitor during the day illustrate exactly why we are here.
Thanks again to all our friends and supporters and see you at the next open day October 3rd.
